The only time I forgot this first habit prior to flying, I ended up in a doctor’s office with a respiratory infection. He actually asked me if I’d recently been on an airplane. Planes are notorious germ tanks. The combination of extremely dry air (a piece of bread will become a hard crust in less than ten minutes), and hundreds of people coughing and sneezing in an enclosed space, spells illness.
