Charlie delivered a chair to my home this morning. It was almost 11:00 am and he told me had
already made eight or nine stops. He was kind of whining because it was taking a long time. He
managed to hit every red light.
I asked him if he ever asked for green lights. He kind of chuckled and said “well, yes.” But I
could tell he was just humoring me. Awkward.
I ask. I ask all the time. Usually before I even start my journey – whether it’s around the corner
or many miles away, I ask. I call them my Green Light Angels. My request is simple: Please,
Green Light Angels, light my way green. At each green light I say thank you! Sometimes softly,
but always out loud. Sometimes when I’m with my boys we shout Thank You! On the way to the
airport, last week, my Dad was driving. I think we were only stopped by two red lights. We
sailed through so many green lights that even he noticed. I told him it was because he was with
me (and I had put in my request.)
When you know what you want, ask. Then practice trust and allow it to come to you. And
always remember to say THANK YOU!
